Lake Lure NC is the spot to visit in the mountains of North Carolina for a
relaxing and rejuvenating vacation getaway, and it is a spot where many dream of
living. The idyllic little town is filled with vacation rentals of all sizes and
there are a number of exciting things to see and do all around the lake. In
addition to fun outdoor activities like hiking and mountain biking, which are
available on the numerous trails that surround the lake, other activities, like

gem mining are all available either on the lake or in the surrounding areas.

The Beach at Lake Lure & Lake Lure Water Works

The Beach at Lake Lure and the Lake Lure Water Park are owned and
operated by the Town of Lake Lure NC. The beach is open seven days a
week from 10 AM to 6 PM, from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.
During the holiday period around the Fourth of July, the beach hours are
extended to 9 am to 7 pm. Residents of Lake Lure NC and those that own
property or can show a Lake Lure address are admitted to the Lake Lure
Beach free of charge. Vacationers and visitors who do not live here must
pay a small fee of $6, $7, or $8, depending on age; children under 4 are
free. Seasons passes are available for purchase for those who might be
in the area for an extended stay. The water park contains a few slides
and fun water attractions for children of all ages. Admission to the
Lake Lure Water Park is included in your beach admission. |

The Lake Lure Marina is the place to go for boat rentals, as well as all
of your fishing and tackle needs. They offer hourly, daily, and weekly
boat rentals of all types, including motorized boats (pontoons), and
non-motorized paddle boats, canoes, and kayaks. |

Chimney Rock Park

monolith that juts out, overlooking the lake. Visitors to the park love

Carl Sandburg was a nationally renowned poet,
biographer, lecturer, newspaper columnist, folksinger, author of
American fairytales and winner of two Pulitzer Prizes. He moved to North
Carolina with his family in 1945. Connemara, his farm and estate,
provided Mrs. Sandburg over 30 acres of pasture for raising her champion
dairy goats. The historic landmark now consists of the Sandburg
residence, a dairy goat barn complex, sheds, rolling pastures,
mountainside woods, five miles of hiking trails, two small lakes,
several ponds, flower and vegetable gardens and an apple orchard. It is
open daily all year and is a great family vacation activity. |

Flat Rock Playhouse

The Flat Rock Playhouse houses state of the art
lighting and sound systems, electronic stages, costume studio/storage
and dressing room space for 40. The auditorium features seating for 506
patrons with air conditioning, reserved seating and assistive listening
devices. Next to the main stage is the scenic studio, which is fully
equipped for scenic construction, welding, painting, properties craft
storage and construction. The Playhouse also has a concession stand,
located in the garden courtyard beside the main stage, and it offers
snacks, drinks and souvenirs. The Playhouse also includes a rehearsal
hall, the historic Lowndes House, artist and student housing and the
Robin R Farquhar Youtheatre Education Center. |

Hendersonville and Brevard North Carolina. It features over 10,000 acres

attractions within the park include Triple Falls, High Falls, Hooker
Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Wintergreen Falls, Grassy Creek Falls, Cedar
